Visiting the patients increases the morale of the patients and enables the relatives of the patients to get information.
Hence visiting a patient according to the hospital rules is very advantageous for both the patient and his/ her relatives.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF PATIENT VISITATION?
The patient visitation that is performed according to the regulations, increases the patient’s morale and affects the healing process positively. It also allows you to obtain information about the patient’s health status.
The main purpose of the patient visitation is to ask for the patient’s well-being, to provide psychological support, and to get information from the doctor.
WHAT DAYS AND HOURS IS PATIENT VISITATION AVAILABLE?
Patient visitation is available every day in our hospital.
Visiting hours are between 10.00 – 22.00.
Visiting is specialized in some units such as general intensive care, coronary intensive care, neonatal intensive care, once a day based on the clinic’s availability, and between 14:00 and 14:15, when the department doctor approved.
Visiting hours are between 13:00 – 13:15 on Saturday.
On Sunday; depending on the availability of the unit, our Night Management Supervisor will assist the time.
WHO CAN BE INFORMED ABOUT THE PATIENT’S HEALTH STATUS?
If the patient is adult and conscious; the information is given to him or his first-degree relative.
If the patient is unconscious; first degree relatives are informed
If the patient is a child; his/ her parents are informed.
Third parties are not informed about the patient.
WHICH PATIENTS SHOULD NOT BE VISITED?
Patients in intensive care
Patients with infectious diseases
Patients who will be impaired by the visiting (For these patients, information is obtained from the patient’s doctor at appropriate times.)
WHO SHOULD NOT BE INVOLVED TO THE PATIENT VISITATION?
Children aged 14 and under
Those with complaints such as fever, cough, sneezing, and sputum production and those with a known infectious disease
Those with any chronic diseases
People who are prone to getting infections
WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS TO BE CONSIDERED WHEN A PATIENT VISITATION?
Do not insist on a patient visit in special cases that the doctor does not allow
Visiting the patient during the visiting hours
Keeping the duration of the visit brief (preferably 10 minutes at most)
No more than two visitors and not speaking loud enough to disturb other patients
In terms of infection; not sitting on patient beds, and not touching anything at the bedside and hospital environment
Disinfecting hands with alcohol-based hand sanitizer before and after the visit
Not bringing food
Not disturbing other patients during the visit
You are requested to respect the privacy of other patients.
WHY SHOULD NOT HAVE A PATIENT VISIT AT NIGHT?
There is only medical personnel on duty at night.
Visitors can reduce the quality of patient care by unnecessarily occupying them.
Hospital safety is negatively affected.
Sleeping patients can feel uncomfortable.
Patient rights may be violated.
Remember, your patient’s health is as important to us as it is to you. We ask you to follow the rules and wish you an immediate recovery!
