Sleep Apnea Polyclinic and Sleep Laboratory

In our Sleep Apnea Polyclinic and Sleep Laboratory, diagnosis and treatment services are provided in breathing disorders during sleep (sleep apnea). Our patients who come to our laboratory with sleep complaints are evaluated in detail by our otolaryngologists, thoracic diseases and neurology physicians, if necessary, by requesting examinations. Patients who are found suitable in the outpatient clinic follow-up are hospitalized in our laboratory and subjected to a sleep test called “polysomnography”.

Polysomnography is a procedure performed all night long with the help of devices to determine the quality of sleep and to find the cause of sleep disturbance. As a result of these recordings, especially brain waves, depth of sleep, rhythm and depth of breathing, frequency and level of snoring, respiratory arrest and duration, oxygen level in the blood, body movements and changing lying position and heart rhythm are measured.

During polysomnography, the following values are measured in our laboratory: brain waves (EEG), air flow in the respiratory tract, respiratory arrest and rate during sleep, blood oxygen levels, eye movements, EKG (heart graph), body position, electrical activity of the muscles. For our patients who apply to our laboratory, an overnight stay can be planned for all-night polysomnography, if necessary.

In the sleep laboratory, we provide all the necessary criteria to our patients to ensure their comfort. Our laboratory has all the necessary criteria such as the room to be quiet, to be of sufficient size, to have a different decoration from the hospital environment for the patient to feel comfortable, and to have the toilet and bathroom in the room.
