Phaco is a method used for cataract surgery. This surgery is performed in our hospital using the Alcon Infiniti phaco device.  In the operations performed with this technique, the eye lens is separated from the other layers without causing any damage to the eye by using a special liquid called viscoelastic gel by entering the eye through an incision of approximately 2 millimeters.

The front shell of the natural lens is peeled off, before the surgery. Afterwards, the lens is broken into particles and removed from the eye with the Alcon Infiniti phaco device working with ultrasonic wave power, which is inserted into the eye through a 2.2 mm tunnel. After the inside of the lens of the eye is completely cleaned, a new lens with the strength required by the eye is placed in the posterior capsule pouch that is left in place. The incision sites are inflated and the surgery is terminated by injecting antibiotics into the eye. The operation is completed in a short time which takes about 10 minutes.
