In the scintigraphy method, after a radioactive substance is given to the body by vein, mouth or other ways, the body is viewed with special cameras. In our hospital, a different radioactive drug is given for each organ with the GE Discovery NM630 scintigraphy device, and the uptake, distribution and excretion of that drug in the relevant organ are monitored, and the diseases of our patients are examined in this way. Diseases in which the scintigraphy device is used can be listed as bone tumor, metastasis, infection, fracture, prosthesis loosening, prosthesis infection, sports injuries.

Our nuclear medicine specialist performs the scintigraphy in our hospital. By removing the metallic accessories on the patient, an apron is put on the patient for scintigraphy. After our patient lies down on the examination table, our nurses give the radiopharmaceuticals to our patient through veins, mouth or breathing. Then, the chemicals are expected to spread to the area to be examined and the shooting process is completed with gamma cameras that detect radioactivity. Upon completion of the scintigraphic examination, the images are checked and more images can be taken if necessary to clarify certain areas or structures. After the scintigraphy process is completed, our specialists, nurses or physicians direct our patient.

The GE Discovery NM630 scintigraphic device creates an image of the areas where the radionuclide occurs and distributes the images to the relevant units, providing the following different types of scintigraphic imaging:

  • Myocardial perfusion scintigraphy (nuclear stress test): used to detect how well blood is flowing and pumping through the heart muscle.
    ●      Parathyroid scintigraphy: Used to diagnose hyperparathyroidism.
    ●      Dynamic kidney scintigraphy: It is used for monitoring the distribution of radioactive materials given to the veins in the kidneys.
    ●      Bone scintigraphy: It is used in diagnosing various bone diseases using radioactive materials injected into the bloodstream.
    ●      Thyroid scintigraphy: It is used to obtain detailed information about the thyroid gland.
    ●       Lung scintigraphy: It is used to measure how much the lungs are fed by incoming blood and air.

We have all kinds of world-class technical equipment and physical infrastructure that can intervene in our patients, in our hospital. All medical devices in our hospital for diagnosis, treatment, patient care and patient safety are the products of internationally recognized brands.

As Reyap Hospital, we provide uninterrupted and complete service with our large and experienced staff, using up-to-date technological tools in line with up-to-date scientific information.
