Electroneuromyography (ENMG), or more commonly electromyography (EMG), is a compound word consisting of the words electro (electrical), neuro (nerve), myo (muscle) and graphy (writing), meaning to print the electrical signals of nerves and muscles is an examination method used to diagnose diseases affecting peripheral nerves, to confirm the diagnosis, to determine the severity of dysfunctions or structural damage in peripheral nerves, to monitor the disease process and to evaluate the effect of the treatment applied. EP (evoked potential) can be used in many areas from nerve conduction to various applications of EMG

During the EMG-EP procedure, the signals coming from the muscles and nerves are transferred to the digital environment through a special device and electrodes, and the data in the digital environment is interpreted by our neurologists to evaluate whether there is any abnormality.

EMG is performed in two steps as surface EMG, in which the electrodes are attached to the skin, and needle EMG, in which the needle electrode is inserted into the muscle. In the first step, the nerve conduction status is determined. For this purpose, recording cables are connected by applying conductive material to the arms or legs of the patient and electrical impulses are given via the stimulating electrode. Recorder cables transfer the obtained data to the computer, the data is processed in the digital environment and reflected on the computer screen. In the second step, the electrical activity of the muscles is examined with the help of a needle. During needle EMG, a sterile needle is inserted into certain muscles, and the resting and contracted state of the muscle is examined.

Nihon Kohden Neuropack EMG-EP electromyography system is used in our hospital, which enables neurophysiological examinations to be performed with an ergonomic design. Nihon Kohden Neuropack EMG-EP electromyography system has 2 and 4 channel amplifiers and has an advanced compact operating panel. The database management of the device, which has variable function keys for ergonomic and flexible use, is the Polaris system. Reporting and management of diagnosis results are also easily performed with the Neuro Report application. With an angled and small hand stimulator option, the device has been optimized to meet the highest demands in clinical applications.

We have all kinds of world-class technical equipment and physical infrastructure that can intervene in our patients, in our hospital. All medical devices in our hospital for diagnosis, treatment, patient care and patient safety are the products of internationally recognized brands.

As Reyap Hospital, we provide uninterrupted and complete service with our large and experienced staff, using up-to-date technological tools in line with up-to-date scientific information.
